School Mission

 

Our mission is to provide an all-round education to promote the moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic development of students.  Through a well-balanced curriculum and a positive learning environment, we offer students opportunities for realizing their potential to the full and growing in a sense of self-discipline, civic responsibility, concern and respect for others as well as commitment to the common good in their service to home, country and humanity.

?      Developing a cross-stream school-based curriculum by infiltrating relevant elements from existing formal and informal curricula into project learning.

?      Providing training and opportunities to equip students with the necessary skills for project work via strengthening collaboration with external service providers.

?      Facilitating a learning environment for students to engage in critical reading and concept mapping in the process of project-learning.

?      Creating more space in the humanities curricula and the library periods for students to engage in cooperative learning through group discussion, presentation and reflection.

?      Strengthening different modes of assessment including self assessment and peer assessment to enhance students’ ownership of learning.

?      Ensuring the effectiveness of the project through strengthened staff collaboration.

?      Disseminating good practices through the school homepage and sharing with other schools and outside professional bodies.

?      Successful if

?      More than 75% of the students attain Grade C or above in their project work;

?      More than 75% of the students’ projects demonstrate the attainment of the level of Application or above*;

?      More than 75% of the students agree that the project helps to enhance their 3Cs, problem-solving skills and collaboration skills; and

?      More than 75% of the students agree that the learning process is rewarding and enjoyable.

?      External service provider is invited to organize training workshops on generic skills for the S4 and S6 student leaders.

?      30-40 S4 and S6 student leaders are selected to participate in the training workshops.

?      The trained S4 and S6 student leaders are invited to organize an inter-house task-based orienteering programme for their fellow students.

?      The programme will be organized in the post-examination period for the whole school.

Successful if:

?      80% of the student leaders find the training workshops useful;

?      80% of the student leaders agree that the training workshops have helped to enhance their 3Cs, problem-solving skills and collaborative skills;

?      80% of the participants express interest in the programme; and

?      80% of the participants agree that the programme has helped to enhance their 3Cs, problem-solving skills and collaborative skills.

?      Enumerate the number of student leaders or participants concerned.

?      Collect the comments of the trainers, teachers and students concerned.
