STEAM Fun Day

Date: 2 Jul 2025

Venue: School Hall

On July 2, 2025, STEAM Education team hosted an exciting STEAM Fun Day, specifically designed for our S1 and S2 students. This event took place in the School Hall and was a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with various aspects of STEAM.

STEAM Fun Day aimed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for learning through hands-on activities. Students explored different booths, each showcasing unique experiments and experiences that highlighted the wonders of STEAM. The event was met with enthusiasm and excitement, making it a memorable day for all participants.

One of the standout attractions was the biology booth, where students participated in organ dissections under the guidance of our dedicated biology teachers. This hands-on experience allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of anatomy and physiology, sparking interest in the life sciences. Many students expressed how fascinating it was to observe the intricate structures of the organs and learn about their functions.

At the chemistry booth, students engaged in an electroplating experiment, learning how to coat objects with metal using electricity. This visually impressive activity not only reinforced their understanding of chemical reactions but also demonstrated the practical applications of chemistry in everyday life. Students were excited to see their items transform before their eyes.

The ICT booth was a hub of excitement, featuring a virtual reality (VR) experience and a Minecraft gaming station. Students donned VR headsets to explore immersive environments, enhancing their understanding of technology. The Minecraft station encouraged collaboration, allowing students to build and create together. This booth showcased the intersection of technology and creativity, inspiring many participants.

Physics enthusiasts found their place at the physics booth, where they explored aerodynamics through a wind tunnel. Students tested various shapes and observed how airflow affected movement. The water rocket activity was a highlight, with students building and launching their own rockets, experiencing the thrill of seeing their creations soar. This hands-on experience illustrated fundamental principles of physics in an engaging way.

The design and technology booth was packed with thrilling activities. Students took turns flying drones, learning about flight mechanics and control. They also explored robotic technology, witnessing robots perform tasks and understanding the power of programming. The aviation workshop covered the basics of flight, while the kinetic energy workshop allowed students to experiment with energy transfer. Each activity inspired innovation and problem-solving skills among participants.

Teachers noted the enthusiasm and engagement of students throughout the event. It was heartwarming to see students collaborating, asking questions, and sharing their discoveries with one another.

STEAM Fun Day not only provided students with memorable experiences but also encouraged them to think critically and creatively. We hope this event has inspired our S1 and S2 students to explore further educational opportunities in STEAM fields.
As we look to the future, we are excited to announce that more STEAM-related activities and workshops will be organized throughout the school year. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to engage in further learning experiences!
