A team of secondary 5 students with strong interest in History represented the school to participate in The 10th Inter-school Competition of Project Learning on Hong Kong's History and Culture. They produced an outstanding research paper and demonstrated extraordinary understanding of the topic. Their dedication and excellent quality of work were highly appreciated by Panel of Judges including Dr Joseph Ting, Adjunct Professor, Department of History, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Eventually, our school was awarded Champion of the Senior Division (Written Report)

The competition is co-organized by the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture. It aims to foster student's interest in learning the history and culture of Hong Kong through conducting field visit and historical research.

To obtain first hand sources in order to deepen the exploration of the topic, our school History teacher Mr Hung Ka-ming led the student team to visit Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Archives to do research and consult records. During the visit, the students presented their ideas to Provincial Archivist, Revd Dr. Philip L. Wickeri who kindly permitted our school students to study valuable Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui documents. Besides, the students conducted an oral history interview with Mr Kwok Chi Kay, Peter, former principal of Bishop Hall Jubilee School. From the interview, the students learned not only the development of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui education after the Second World War but also the story of a committed educator.

All in all, our school students not only enriched their horizon but developed high order research skills and enhanced their enthusiasm for studying the history of Hong Kong.
